Transition Bio and Little Warrior Foundation Partner to Advance Breakthrough Ewing Sarcoma Treatments

Transition Bio, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in drug discovery, has partnered with the Little Warrior Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to fighting childhood cancer, to develop new treatments for Ewing Sarcoma. Supported by a $750,000 grant from the foundation, Transition Bio will apply its advanced technology to target the EWS-FLI1 fusion protein, which is recognized as the underlying biological driver of the disease. Ewing Sarcoma primarily impacts children, teens, and young adults, and currently lacks targeted therapies because this specific protein has historically proven resistant to standard drug development approaches.

This partnership aims to find a specialized cure for a rare and aggressive form of bone and soft-tissue cancer that affects young people. While scientists have long known what protein causes Ewing Sarcoma, its structure makes it extremely difficult for traditional medicine to block or target. By using cutting-edge technology combining artificial intelligence and biophysics, Transition Bio hopes to design small molecules that can disrupt this problem protein and create the first direct, effective treatment for young patients fighting the disease.
